Who We Are

Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics (PMSBE) was the first business school in Indonesia to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The MBA program was launched on 6 September 1982 with initial help from national and international experts or professors who hailed from overseas institutions such as Erasmus University Rotterdam, Arizona State University and Lowell University and Texas A&M University, USA.As a business school founded by prominent members of the country's business community, PMSBE offers a leading program that emphasizes learning by actually implementing business concepts in real-world situations.

Since the establishment, the school has a leading reputation in delivering MBA program that is relevant to the Indonesian and the international business world. The school aims to deliver a good quality education in business and management that balances between theoretical knowledge and its application that considers conditions specific of Indonesia.

The PMSBE logo represents the structure of the MBA program that consist of the foundation or basic module (integrated management process), 4 pillars of functional management modules and the capstone module on strategic and business policy management. The logo also shows a representative of Joglo, a traditional Indonesian Javanese house.

Following the regulation from Ministry of Education and Culture, the degree was altered from MBA to Magister Manajemen (MM) in 1993.

Given its commitment as a school that contributes to the development of business in Indonesia, PMSBE strives to be a leading partner and point of reference in the advancement of theories and practices of business, economics, management, accounting and other programs relevant to a diversity of high-calibre business leaders and practitioners that are respectable, civilized and ethical.
In pursuit of the above vision, PMSBE embraces the following:

From The Dean

Dear respected business leaders,

It is no overstatement to say that we are now living an epoch of technological revolution, which fundamentally changes the ways we live, work and relate. Thanks to technology, billions of people are now connected through mobile devices; information, data and knowledge can be processed, stored, and accessed at unprecedented speed and ease. With its possibilities endless, the new technology revolution must be one of the most fascinating challenges we are facing in the near future.

In fact, we are already witnessing massive shifts across industries--within and without. New business models are emerging. Disruption of corporations are taking place. Production methods are being reshaped, as are systems of consumption, transportation and delivery. All these changes, sectoral complexity and interconnectedness imply that all stakeholders – government, business, academia and civil society – have a common responsibility to work together to adapt to and navigate in the fast-changing business ecosystem.

Since its conception, Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics has taken the initiative to place business ecosystem as its main theme of learning and research activities. We actively invite corporate leaders, business association representatives and government officials to share their experiences in class. We are pleased to acknowledge that most of them have agreed to collaborate in a special program through which our students can use real business entities as laboratories for learning and running living projects. This program allows everyone involved to obtain the critical big picture of how a plethora of elements are subtly and intricately intertwined within the business ecosystem.  It is by capitalizing upon this knowledge through such a program that new business ideas come about, new business models innovated and everything else that entails, reshaped.  The result, we believe, will help Indonesian companies in embracing and implementing these ideas in order to be more competitive.

Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics was “born” 34 years ago with an intrinsic mission to inspire business education. Behind the establishment were over 80 prominent national business people who envisioned two things in common: a noble pledge to help educate the people of this great nation, and a belief that the nation needs innovative business leaders. Their pledge and belief have since been well alive, manifested through a myriad of   accomplishments that the school has made in terms of producing innovative business leaders and  key players, as well  as in contributing to  the intellectual  development of the nation’s people.

If you share the same belief and vision as we do at Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics, let’s pull together , come join us  and collaborate towards the noble pledge.
